There is no moral distinction between petty thievery and "from each according to ability, to each according to need," as practiced by the State, which is to say, there is no moral distinction between the act of a pickpocket and the progressive income tax, TVA, federal aid to education, subsidies to farmers, or whatever. There is only a legal distinction.
